We award artist grants for six months, one or three years, or single amounts all of them towards artistic work or further education in Finland or abroad.
These grants are intended for the maintenance of artists, freeing them for creative processes or to perform. The artists receiving grants are required to temporarily give up their regular jobs, so as to be able to devote themselves to artistic work.
Artists or small groups may apply for project grants. These are awarded for such purposes as carrying out projects, reimbursing expenses, funding performances, publication and promotion, and further education.
Applications for project grants must be submitted by the end of November.
We grant state subsidies to large groups and organisations, primarily towards artistic activities.
This funding may be applied for twice a year. The fixed dates are 31 January and 31 August. Application forms are available at our office and municipal cultural affairs offices.
